How to install digiKam on Linux

digiKam is an open-source digital photo editing and management software for the KDE desktop. It can runs on most of other Linux desktops as long as required libraries are installed. digiKam allows users to manage and preview digital photo albums, as well as improve the quality of digital photos on the fly by using a collection of photo enhancement and transformation tools.

Install digiKam on Debian, Ubuntu or Linux Mint

digiKam is included as a standard package on Debian-based Linux, so installation is hassle-free.

$ sudo apt-get install digikam

Install digiKam on Fedora

digikam is included in the update repository of Fedora. So simply install it with yum command.

$ sudo yum install digikam

Install digiKam on CentOS

To install digiKam on CentOS, you need to enable EPEL repository first, and then use yum command.

$ sudo yum install digikam

Install digiKam on OpenSUSE

On OpenSUSE, digiKam can be installed with zypper as follows.

$ sudo zypper install digikam
